Role Overview:
Jaded London are looking for an enthusiastic Buying and Merchandising Admin Assistant to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to help shape the buying and merchandising departments. Your focuses will be to support the buying and merchandising functions by running trade reports and keeping on top of supplier negotiations and order management.
Being an excellent communicator is essential for this role to build strong relationships with all key stakeholders across internal departments and our external supply chain.
We're looking for someone who is proactive, with a keen eye for detail and strong ability to problem solve.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
- Send daily sales reports and updates to the company. Highlighting top line performance, daily bestsellers and newness performance. Prompt other departments to take line level trading actions and follow up on results.
- Awareness of collection launches and how to adapt day-to-day intake and stock management tasks
- Updating Monday trade reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Understand the trade analysis and how this dictates line level priorities for the week to boost trade performance and how to manage the order book effectively
- Attending trade meetings, making thorough notes and following up trade actions throughout the week with key departments; Ecommerce, Social, Logistics, Production, Design, Suppliers. Feeding back any results from actions taken and provide suggestions for future strategies and processes
- Attend all fit sessions, making thorough notes and actions to communicate to teams. Support the buying team by following up and negotiating with suppliers where needed, communicating accurate and up to date information
- Attend supplier meetings, making thorough notes and following up on key actions and data upkeep on systems based on updates
- Update the company on key receipts and back in stock styles on a daily basis - making key teams aware of what styles need to be put online and merched up on site. Report and react to back in stock trade
- Ensure systems and reports are kept up to date with latest information from suppliers for costings, pricing, unit buys cancellations
- Support buying and merchandising teams with ad hoc analysis and visual presentations based on trading performance and newness in the pipeline. Always ensuring high quality of work and presenting in a visual manor to ensure alignment across creative and marketing departments
- Raising repeat orders on the system, working closely with production, merchandising and buying teams
- Monitor slow sellers and strong sellers, making regular suggestions on how to improve sales by liaising with various internal departments, reviewing future orders with suppliers and suggesting price changes
- Understanding of weekly priorities and the impact on other stakeholders, constantly communicating with wider teams to reach shared goals
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to develop awareness of supply chain capabilities in respective countries, the impact of freight methods on margin and lead time and key calendar dates across the supply base
- Attend weekly critical path meetings with suppliers, linking in with garment tech and critical path on key action points by style to ensure we are meeting key deadlines. Closely monitoring delays from a sampling and delivery point of view, presenting key action points ahead of time
- Attend weekly internal critical path meetings, feeding back any key points from supplier critical path meetings and possessing knowledge of where styles are at in their lifecycle, any impact of delays etc
- Complete ad hoc comp shops, pricing reviews and trend reports
- Maintain accuracy across all daily and weekly tasks, error checking own work at each stage
Requirements
- Commercial awareness and strong trading mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Passion for Jaded London and the fashion industry
- Good negotiation skills, able to work with suppliers to reach the best outcomes
- Proactive and adaptable. Is able to bring about ideas and change to streamline processes and maximise efficiency
- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders. Building great relationships with supply base
- Strong prioritisation and accuracy skills. A critical thinker and problem solver who always bring ideas and solutions
