Loading Bay and Logistics Operator
Salary: £27,650 per annum(salary will be pro rata £20,737), plus company benefits
Location: London, EC2M 2QS
Contract: Full Time, 9 month FTC
Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 1 hours unpaid lunch break, shifts will be rotational; 5:30am until 2pm, 8am until 4:30pm and 10:30am until 7pm
Work model: Fully onsite due to nature of role
Williams Lea seeks a Loading Bay and Logistics Operator to join our team!

Purpose of role
Reporting into the Loading Bay Logistics Team Leader, the Loading Bay Logistics Operator role is to assist the Team Leader in the day to day running of the operation. The Operator will be expected to carry out all duties aligned to the role, including any ad hoc requests, as there will be times this role involves working alone. To develop and become an integral part of the professional and seamless team already operating onsite. The successful candidate musts are: team player, flexibility around shift patterns and changes, willing to work outside of core hours.
Key responsibilities
- Communicating with Security for vehicle entry, contacting other suppliers on site to ensure they are present to receipt their delivery
- Booking delivery slots on online booking system, processing of email or telephone vehicle slot bookings for deliveries to site
- Undertake RoSPA training (Vehicle manoeuvring within the Loading Bay confines) ensuring safe entry/exit of vehicles into the Loading Bay. Communicating with the driver to ensure they follow your instructions to keep safe working environment
- Pallet truck trained (training provided) Time to time you will be required to manoeuvre pallets around the Loading Bay. Delivery recipient will normally take this responsibility
- Undertake daily patrols of lower floors. Patrolling basement floors ensuring a clear corridor policy is adhered to at all time reporting any infringements.
- Checking all UPS/Pump rooms are secure again reporting any breaches.
- Completion of Daily check sheets. Start/End of shift check sheets
- To treat clients in a courteous and helpful manner
- To ensure all possible deadlines are achieved and managed in conformance with service level agreement
- Any potential failed deadlines are communicated to Logistics Team Leader
- Provide a high level of customer service in all activities, demonstrating a pride and professionalism at all times
- All telephone calls are answered within three rings in a professional manner and all client requests are followed through with a business like approach
- You understand the importance of the clients request, discuss and agree requests once understood, give options and value for money
- Be prepared to cover for colleagues in their absence. Holiday or sick cover at short notice meaning possible shift change at short notice
- Overtime cover, evenings and weekends where necessary. Rotated within the team
- To have a full understanding of processes and procedures
- To support colleagues and work as a team in order to achieve the best results for the client
- Ensure that the Health and Safety and IT policies are adhered to at all times
- Use correct radio etiquette at all times
- Undertake any ad hoc duties as requested by the Logistics Team Leader
- Take ownership of general housekeeping in the Loading Bay
- Fulcrum (vehicle booking system) gain full understanding then discussing any required changes with Estate build team, to include follow up of requested changes
Personal attributes
- Ability to take ownership and fulfil responsibilities
- Knowledge of Loading Bay environments
- Banksman certified trained (Desirable)
- Co-operative with a genuine desire to assist others
- Technical knowledge to include PC skills in Email creation writing/replying, Word document creation & saving, Excel population & extraction of data
- Fluent spoken English
