Bricklayer / Plasterer/Groundworker
Covering the Borough of Hounslow
About the Job:
To carry out a range of bricklaying duties both externally and internally using schedule of rates. To provide a high quality, customer, and quality focused repairs service, delivering a range of brick work skilled works within our minor works department to the London Borough of Hounslow
Key Responsibilities:
- Carryout general brickwork repairs including blockwork, steps, and garden walls.
- Rake out existing brickwork pointing and match.
- Patch repairs to brickwork and blockwork requiring toothing out.
- Install concrete and steel lintels and support work.
- Set out or renew PCC paving from job sheet to include falls and levels as necessary.
- Excavate and prepare subbase and drainage prior to paving.
- Repairs or replacing section of drains or gullies including soakaways.
- Install new drain/manhole where required.
- Carrying out patch repair to tarmac pathways and estate roads as and when required
- To display a high level of customer care when dealing with tenants and leaseholders and contribute positively towards a high-quality customer focused service.
- To be responsible for managing stock
Experience & Qualifications:
- City & Guilds/NVQ 2-3 or equivalent relevant experience
- Previous experience as a Bricklayer / Multi skilled Operative
- Previous experience of working in a Social Housing Repairs environment.
- Operate company ICT systems and hardware to receive and manage daily work schedules.
- To be able to drive, have a full driving licence.
- Use of own hand & power tools commensurate with the work
- Ability to deal sympathetically with tenants and leaseholders in course of daily duties.
- Able to use judgement and discretion.
- Able to work on own initiative or part of team /take responsibility.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a positive approach to solving daily work challenges.
- Demonstrates high levels of energy and commitment.
- Good level of numeracy, literacy, written, oral and communication skills
- Apprenticeship in Bricklayer / multi skills
