Working hours: 18.5 hours per week (2.5 days per week or a pattern of 2 days one week, 3 days the next)

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Children’s Services Teams.
We pay an attractive salary of £18,324 - £19,593 and offer access to training and development opportunities. This post attracts a Market Supplement of £1,720.50 per annum, in addition to the annual salary, which will be paid in 12 monthly instalments.
Caerphilly County Borough Council's Children Services Caerphilly West Locality Team is looking for a part time Social Worker who has the right values, motivation, and commitment to work in a challenging, yet rewarding environment.

We welcome applications from third year social work students. Successful applicants will be offered the opportunity of starting as unqualified support workers. Once qualified, they will then be appointed as social workers.
If you are effective at building positive working relationships, have good communication and IT skills and have a genuine passion and commitment to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families, we want to hear from you. We work collaboratively to promote "what matters" with children and their families.
Caerphilly Children Services have strong links to the Gwent Attachment Service and Caerphilly has invested in MyST therapeutic service, which provides intensive support to our Children who are Looked After.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor
- Up to date knowledge of current legislation Research and Practice issues in childcare.
- Excellent communication skills with children, young people, their families/carers and professionals.
- Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
