We are looking for three dynamic and newly qualified Social Workers in Adult Social Care.

What you can expect to be doing:

You will be undertaking strengths-based assessments, support planning and reviews to support customers to achieve their outcomes and promote their independence.

You will be working as part of a busy team and alongside other teams within the local authority.

Multi-disciplinary practice will be integral to the role.

You must have a degree or equivalent in social work and be registered with Social Work England, with the ability to fulfil the travel requirements of this position and a full valid UK driving licence.

Learning Disability

We are a team that actively welcomes learners, and, as an ASYE, you can expect to receive the support you need to study and learn as a member of the team. You will be given the opportunity to explore your Social Work role by liaising with other teams and services, working with a protected caseload of people with a variety of needs and outcomes, you will be given the space to work creatively with people and to find your own professional identity.

Peripatetic Team

We are best likened to an internal agency for Adult Social Care Services. Our team of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Assessment and Support Co-ordinators provide flexible cover across all Adult Social Care teams in Dorset Council. This could be to cover a team vacancy, undertake a specific intervention or project work to name a few.

These are full time roles at 37 hours per week.

have a degree in social work or equivalent, or be newly qualified
be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

All social workers who qualified after September 2012 need to:

undertake the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE)
meet the expected standards during the ASYE period

The ASYE scheme is required unless you can prove that you meet the standards laid out in the professional capabilities’ framework.
