We are seeking a Home Condition Surveyor to join Southern Housing
This is a field-based role, and you will be required to have a full driving license with your own transport.
Reporting to the Home Survey Programme Manager, you will work as part of a team to undertake stock condition surveys of properties across the Southern Housing portfolio of c77,000 homes using handheld technologies. You will survey and collect accurate property condition and repair data to inform annual programmes of investment, the Business Plan and long-term financial planning process.
You will carry out dwelling, block, and estate level surveys, assessing for HHSRS hazards and Decent Homes compliance. You will also undertake ad-hoc condition and validation surveys to meet business objectives and customer query and complaint surveys where required.
What you'll be doing: • Assessing properties against Regulatory Standards (currently the Decent Homes standard), including the housing health and safety rating system (HHSRS).
• Ensuring that any urgent repair work identified is reported to be incorporated into programmes or resolved as day-to-day repairs.
• Accurately collating all information necessary and ensure this information is inputted into the asset management system.
• Inspecting the condition of estate boundaries, footpaths and communal areas within estates and blocks of flats
What you'll need: - Experience of undertaking Stock Condition Surveys and knowledge of associated procedures and practices.
- In-depth understanding of Regulatory standards (currently Decent Homes) and the housing health and safety rating system (HHSRS) and assessing hazards using this.
- Diplomatic and persuasive with an ability to influence people and the will to work with residents to achieve successful outcomes.
- Able to receive and respond to customer feedback and complaints professionally at all times, negotiating, managing, and resolving conflict
- Able to communicate accurately, listen and keep people informed, and be polite, friendly, and helpful
