North Yorkshire Council are recruiting for a Social Worker to join their team in Harrogate. The role will be a hybrid position with 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
About the Role
As a Social Worker, forming collaborative partnerships will be key. You will work closely with a variety of teams and agencies, including health colleagues, stronger communities and prevention teams, voluntary and independent sector, promoting health and wellbeing and preventing, reducing, and delaying need, in line with the Care Act.
Through strength-based assessments and interventions, you will support adults with care and support needs and their carers to achieve their desired outcomes and wellbeing. To achieve this, you will be experienced in developing personalised care and support plans that represent best value and in determining eligibility for adults with care and support needs against the national standards, ensuring they are safe from harm. You will also have a good working knowledge of current adult social care legislation and application of the legislative principles, including the Care Act 2014.

We work with people with a wide and varied range of needs; using social work skills and knowledge to support them. Working to improve the lives of individuals– issues tackled include self-neglect, hoarding, dependence on alcohol or drug misuse, homeless prevention and supporting individuals and their families living with dementia. We do all of this alongside specialists in these areas, providing the most appropriate social work intervention.
