Job Title: Junior Brand Manager (12 month temp)
Your Role
The Junior Brand Manager is an artist services role focusing on artists brand development through merchandise, fan experience, approvals and product development inspired by music and style trends and is centred on artist rights. The role works across all merchandise functions of retail, licensing, D2C and tour.
You will be the point person for retail approvals, which includes filtering & sending designs, feeding back comments to the relevant teams, and chasing management teams for responses. A keen eye for detail and exceptional organisation is a must. The individual must thrive off process, manage and update trackers and be able to work to tight deadlines.
Alongside retail approvals, you will be working with upcoming/newly signed artists & managers to develop merchandise products, feeding into various channels, such as Tour and D2C. Eventually, growing your own roster of artists, where you will cultivate and maintain strong relationships.
With excellent communication skills you must enjoy a varied role with lots of communication points where you will be supporting some of the world’s best artists and working within a market leading merchandise function.

Approvals
Here you’ll get to:
- Take concepts from teams and process to artist management for approval.
- Spot errors and requirements in creative before sending for approval, or sense checking with managers.
- Communicate with partners / internally on approvals.
- Keep a log of all approvals and presenting to the team.
- Track changes and feed back to the relevant teams.
- Work with software such as Asana and manual systems.
Brand Management
- Working with artist managers & D2C teams on new music release merch drops & pre-order campaigns.
- Take concepts from artists/artists management, checking creative and placing orders with production for tour supply.
- Come up with creative ideas for products and identify the best items to use.
- Understand merchandise items and pricing.
- Manage the end to end process of artist supply communicating with managers.
- Work with record labels for promotional orders.
- Working with finance and legal on agreements and invoicing.
Projects
- WMX support on some exciting artists projects from exhibitions, pop up stores, experiential events, etc. This role will support event opportunities as they come up working with various departments, record labels and artist management.
About You
- Experience in the merchandise industry – ideally within approvals / product development.
- Have an understanding of merchandise. Understanding retail, licensing and D2C is a bonus.
- Meticulous and organised.
- Outgoing, with great communication skills
- Good computer skills. PowerPoint and Excel especially, experience using Google products is advantageous.
- Excellent project coordination/ management skills.
- Able to work self-sufficiently or as an integral part of the team.
- Excellent research Skills. Both to understand artists and also brands/customers.
We’d Love It If You Also Had
- Our ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience in the merchandise industry (experience working directly with artist managers, sales teams, IP holders and promoters in a merchandise or fan Services field is preferred).
- Experience with web-based software applications.
- Excellent MS Office Skills – Proficient in Excel.
