Accountable To: Home Manager
Purpose:
To provide and maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the home where residents with complex mental health and challenging behaviours reside.
Principal responsibilities:
- To provide and maintain a clean and hygienic environment for the Service Users who reside in the Homes
- To work as part of a team, assisting other Cleaners in tasks if needed.
- To adhere to cleaning schedules and ensure the cleanliness of the home at all times.
- To ensure that regular checks are completed on communal areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, lounges etc, and where applicable, sign the check sheet to ensure that a high standard of hygiene is maintained at all times.
- To clean all public floor areas in the Home you are working in.
- Adhere to health & safety and hygiene regulations in relation to domestic activities including fire procedures & COSHH regulations.
- Ensure cleaning materials stores, linen stores and cleaning materials are labelled and kept tidy at all times.
- You are responsible for your allocated cleaning supplies.
- Ensure weekly stock checks are completed and reported to the Home Manager and all stock signed in and out where appropriate by all staff who have access to cleaning supplies
- Ensure communal areas and sinks, skirting’s, furniture and windows are cleaned to the standards required.
- Ensure spring cleaning and other regular / seasonal cleaning tasks are carried out.
- Ensure all equipment is used correctly and left in good working order at all times and stored in a safe place
- Ensure correct and economical use of equipment and cleaning materials.
- Report any maintenance issues or faults on equipment to maintenance staff via existing reporting procedures in place.
- To clean and sanitise all bathrooms in the Home you are working in. Complete bathroom signing sheet must be signed to confirmed that these have been cleaned.
- To wipe down and keep clean all internal paintwork, doors, window frames, skirting boards, etc.
- To support residents in laundry tasks if required
- To support residents in the cleaning of their bedrooms / en-suites if required
- Cleaning residents’ bedrooms / ensuites if required
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene whilst adhering to health and safety regulations within the home
- Adhere to the Company’s disposal of waste process.
- Complete Deepdene Care`s mandatory online training
- To attend courses when needed, relating to the environment you work in and the equipment you use.
- To be caring sympathetic and tactful when dealing with Service Users.
- To respect the resident’s independence, privacy and dignity.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding Client Information, Company policies and procedures.
- To know and conform to Deepdene Care`s Health and Safety policies.
- To know and conform to all the Deepdene Care’s Policies and Procedures.
