Junior Social Media Executive: BBC Employer Brand
Working hours: 50% (17.5 hours per week)
6 months FTC 1st October 2024 to 31st March 2025
We're looking for someone with professional social media experience to join BBC's Employer Brand Team and support our social media channels, including those focussed on early careers during our Apprenticeship recruitment cycle.
You'll need proven experience working with relevant software (After Effects, InDesign, Final Cut, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) as well as strong graphic design and video editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Job purpose
This role supports the Employer Brand Social Media Lead to deliver our employer brand social media engagement strategy across digital and social channels (Careers site, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X). The successful candidate will bring some knowledge of social media content ideation, creation, editing and posting, as well as community management to support us in showcasing what it’s like to work at the BBC. In particular, this role will support our ‘Get In’ early careers focussed Instagram channel during our recruitment season and managing time-critical updates to the early careers website. In this role you will contribute to the BBC’s ambition to become an employer of choice attracting and engaging a truly diverse candidate pipeline that reflects the audiences that the BBC aspires to inform, educate and entertain.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Supporting the Employer Brand Social Media Lead in content creation including filming, photography, graphics, editing and subtitling.
- Working closely with the Employer Brand Social Media Lead and Early Careers Recruitment and Programmes teams to ideate innovative and engaging social media content.
- Ensure that all content aligns with the BBC’s tone of voice, values, and brand guidelines.
- Attending events to collect content for social media posts.
- Liaise with third party to make time-sensitive updates to our early careers web pages.
Essential skills and experience
- Relevant experience as junior social media executive (in house, agency or independent).
- Evidence of producing social media content for a large brand.
- Familiarity with creating and editing content that is accessible, including adding subtitles and following accessibility guidelines.
- Strong graphic design and video editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience dealing with stakeholders in a professional setting.
- Technical expertise with relevant software: After Effects, InDesign, Final Cut, Photoshop, Premiere Pro.
