About the Job: -
Provide direct support to the Roofing team to ensure repairs are always carried out efficiently and safely.
To work with the repairs team to achieve a first-time fix and meet the KPI targets to ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction is high and customer expectations are met.
To assist in providing high quality, customer, and quality focused, roofing works and maintenance to the London Borough of Hounslow.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- To help carry out repairs and maintenance to all types of domestic and commercial roofs within the Council’s housing stock: - This will include repairs to various types of clay, slate and concrete tiles, through to complete reroofing to all types of pitched roofs and associated works, including lead work to chimneys/flashings etc
- Help Install plastic fascia, soffit and rainwater goods.
- Help Stripping and loading out tiled roofs to domestic houses.
- Help with small demolition works such as chimney removals.
- Help to Install new loft insulation.
- To check ladders and equipment before use and report any defects to the roofer and supervisor or management immediately.
- To check all PPE is adequate and in good condition, reporting any defects to the roofer and supervisor or management immediately.
- To ensure the site is clean and tidy upon completion of works.
- To photograph before and after repairs and store data on handheld device / PDA
- To maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and ensure tools provided are checked regularly to ensure they remain safe and fit for purpose.
- To ensure all tools and materials and any associated debris are removed from sites following repairs and homes and communal areas left in a clean and tidy state.
Previous Experience and Skills Required:
- Knowledge of working in maintenance environment
- Good understanding of roofing repair procedures and materials used.
- Good working knowledge of local authority services
- Strong communication and presentation skills to prepare and present written and verbal reports where necessary.
- Adaptable and flexible in a challenging environment
- A reliable, honest and trustworthy individual with excellent time keeping skills.
- Motivated, committed and focused with drive and ambition to succeed.
- Willing to go “The extra mile”.
