Who are we?
Answer in Progress is a media production company on a mission to reignite a love of learning. We produce content, primarily for YouTube, celebrating the adventure of going from question to answer. We’re looking to grow our team to support with the logistics of video production and business operations.
Who are we looking for?
A highly organised and proactive person who is comfortable working independently, and with keeping track of multiple projects in media production. You excel at managing timelines, budgets, and communications. You are comfortable problem-solving to ensure deadlines are met and production runs seamlessly.
Ultimately, you are a self-sufficient, perceptive, and clear communicator who can balance administrative tasks with occasional creative input, ensuring the success and growth of our production operations.
The ideal candidate is based in either London (England), or the Greater Toronto area (Canada). Alternatively, you are based elsewhere, but you have the ability to easily commute to one of these locations in order to work with the team in person.
What is the job?
Your mission is to keep the team on track and reduce the amount of time it takes us to make stuff. Every morning, you will be providing a bullet list to individual team members with tasks, pertinent deadlines, and updates from previous requests, as well as working on pushing various projects forward for the rest of the time. You will be responsible for supporting the team to achieve a consistent content schedule for our YouTube, Patreon, and Newsletter, as well as keeping track of new merchandise and content vertical development.
You will work in a small, dynamic team supporting the production of videos and business operations. You will be balancing high-pressure sprints with calm periods between productions. You will actively seek ways to improve business operations, finding inefficiencies and suggesting strong solutions to streamline our processes. As a remote-first team, we largely rely on effective asynchronous communication via Slack and Notion, but we do have a mandatory weekly meeting block on Tuesday mornings (Eastern time).
This is a high trust role. You may be dealing with confidential information and be given the authority to make decisions without oversight. Trustworthiness and discretion are key for this role.
You will be responsible for:
- Liaising with team members, external freelancers, and contractors to support the production of content across YouTube, Patreon, and our Newsletter
- Organising schedules and priorities for individual team members and communicating these in a clear and concise way
- Sourcing experts, researchers, writers and crew, and coordinating interviews
- Scouting and securing locations and releases
- Managing and maintaining overall production and calendars
- Updating Notion systems and timelines, as well as production budgets
- Monitoring emails, uploads and comments for the main accounts, and directing them appropriately
- Conducting quality control and uploading content (YouTube, Patreon, Newsletters, etc.)
- Writing basic social copy
- Problem-solving production delays
- Other ad-hoc jobs such as booking travel arrangements and scheduling meetings

Pay & Term:
6 months, part-time (immediate start preferred).
$560 CAD weekly / £320 GBP weekly (approx. 20 hours of work a week, flexible).
There may be the opportunity for renewal after the initial period, and the potential for a full-time position.
