We’re looking for a creative, proactive and highly organised social media and marketing whizz who is as passionate about bringing West London together as we are. With solid experience in social media management, content creation and event marketing; most importantly we want somebody that’s excited about making their mark on an independent and innovative hospitality-first business.
Creating reels around new dishes one day, working with top music industry talent the next, this will be a hands-on role that will be integral to the growing success of our reimagined cultural programme and partnership events, as well as a key driver across all of our business pillars.
Who We Are
Spread across three floors of a 17th Century grade-two listed building, Kindred is a reimagined community space based in Hammersmith, West London. The top two floors are reserved for coworking and private and public events, with the ground floor being home to Cellar, our café, restaurant and bar.
Kindred was co-founded by former social worker and one of CODE Hospitality’s 30 under 30 winners, Anna Anderson – a social entrepreneur passionate about creating spaces that bring people together through shared experiences, notably food and drink, music, and ideas that help shape a better tomorrow. And that ethos runs through everything we do.
We’re a tight-knit team of around 40, made up of chefs, front of house staff, community hosts and event managers. We also work with a host of brilliant consultants, well-connected within the worlds of food & drink, events and social business.
What You’ll Be Working On
This is a role tailor-made for someone that enjoys getting stuck into a variety of interesting projects and seeing the impact of their marketing activities first-hand. You will be a key part of our marketing team, while also working closely with our events team. You’ll be leading the charge on the strategy and delivery of our social media marketing across all of our business pillars; coworking, private hire, cultural programming and food and drink.
Live performance is our lifeblood – we have hosted afterparties for newly crowned Mercury Prize Winners, album launches for platinum-selling artists, given a stage to exciting up-and-comers, and programmed everything from after-hours writing salons, to poetry slams. That's not all: we also put on regular food & drink events including our cheese and wine club in partnership with our friends from the Chiswick Cheese Market, and developed our own series focused on the ideas and solutions that could help shape a better tomorrow.
Here’s what you will do:
- Create high-quality photo and video content for Kindred and Cellar at Kindred’s social media channels
- Schedule all social media content on Meta Business Suite
- Manage the approval process and all content from event partners
- Manage our social media accounts. Respond to queries, post according to agreed monthly content calendar, interact with our partners and respond to reviews
- Work collaboratively with our Marketing Manager on optimising social media adverts across Meta Business Suite
- Create email campaigns and automations. Send out newsletters promoting our programme and occasional pre and post-event emails to attendees
- Promote our events online and offline. Publish and manage event pages on our website and third-party ticketing platforms and aggregators
- Produce monthly reports for all our social media channels and for all event marketing activities
- Feed into the creation of new events and build a marketing strategy and plan for each
- Identify and build relationships with partners to maximise reach and promotional opportunities
- Support with ad-hoc designs and printing such as event menus, event invitations and in-house signage
- Design promo assets for social media, working with event partners and external stakeholders as needed
- Stay up to date with new trends and platforms
- Have excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timelines are met
- Maintain a well-organised archive of design assets, including event media, content photoshoots
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll share our ambition to create a vibrant cultural destination that sits at the beating heart of West London and be confident in your ability to execute on a marketing plan, with lots of ideas for how we can take things to the next level. Ideally, you’ll have a minimum of 4-5 years’ relevant experience and excellence in the following areas:
- Social media management: you’ll have a good idea of what works on different platforms and be on top of current trends and growth tactics. Ideally, you’ll have experience of successfully managing accounts for a restaurant and/or events venue
- Creative problem solving: you must be willing to experiment with different tactics and approaches to ensure we hit our goals around ticket sales
- Data management: you’ll need to be comfortable working with a CRM and creating segments and automations on email marketing platforms
- Communication: you’ll be working closely with lots of different stakeholders so will need to be an effective communicator that can galvanise others
- Design: on occasion, you will need to create simple assets on InDesign or Canva for social media and our website
- Event marketing experience: you will have experience marketing live events, with the network to match
- Attention to detail: we have high standards in terms of the content and campaigns we run so you will need to be someone that can spot a typo or blurry image from a mile away
- Basic copywriting skills: we have professional writers on the team but from time to time you’ll need to write the odd bit of email copy or captions for social media
