BBC Maestro is a service provided by Maestro Media in partnership with BBC Studios.
We are an educational service crafted to give our learners the techniques, tools, confidence, and inspiration to ignite their passion and develop skills in different aspirational subjects.
Some of the most experienced creators and experts in the world teach our courses in simple steps, such as Mark Ronson, Paula Scher, Brian Cox, Professor Tim Spector, Alan Moore and Julia Donaldson.
Since our launch in late 2020, we have introduced new course categories across health, wellbeing, business and design, improved multi-platform product experiences that help strengthen learning outcomes.
Looking to 2024 and beyond, we are evolving our market strategies to grow new revenue streams across B2B and diversify our audience base.
About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to join our marketing team and lead the development and execution of full funnel marketing strategies for both our B2B and B2C audiences. You will be responsible for planning, creating, and delivering high-quality campaigns across multiple channels, including email, social media, webinars, podcasts, blogs, and more.
Working cross-functionally with our marketing, product, sales, creative and strategy teams, you will understand our customers' needs, challenges, and goals, and develop compelling commercial content that educates, inspires, and converts. Using data to inform your approach, you will monitor and analyse the performance of our campaigns and optimise and improve audience reach, customer acquisition and retention.
This role reports into our Head of Marketing, and has the following responsibilities:
- Originate creative marketing strategies that help grow our audience reach and customer conversion, across B2C and B2B. Develop creative brief in partnership with our creative studio team.
- Act as project manager for our marketing calendar covering the launch of new courses, product feature launches, campaigns and always on promotional activity.
- Attend course productions, and work with our production teams and talent to ensure we have compelling marketing material to promote our courses.
- Support the development of BBC Maestro's brand identity and voice across all marketing channels and touchpoints, ensuring consistency and alignment with our brand guidelines.
- Develop our customer journeys to ensure we have accurate understanding of what drives acquisition and engagement; ensuring that our channels are optimised based on data analysis and testing strategies.
- Conduct smart A/B tests to optimise the performance of campaigns.
- Work with our product managers and performance marketing lead to optimise on-site conversion, analysing the customer journey and designing, implementing and analysing experiments that improve our lifetime value.
- Work with our sales, strategy and product teams to help build and position our brand as a credible learning provider to organisations.
- Support the management of external consultants, including PR and eCRM, ensuring good communication and quality outcomes are achieved. Support them with signoffs, assets and reporting on the status of their campaigns to the business.
Requirements
- Proven track record of driving customer acquisition and retention through impactful marketing campaigns, at least 5 years' experience working for premium brands
- Experienced in full funnel digital marketing for both B2C and B2B markets, preferably in media or e-learning sector.
- Experienced at marketing subscription products/services and have mapped out customer segments and sales journeys. You have attributed marketing touchpoints to user acquisition and engagement.
- A strong portfolio of projects that demonstrates your ability to create engaging and effective marketing strategies for different audiences, channels, and formats.
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills. As well as care for good grammar, you understand UX copy that drives conversion and ensure that the brand voice is consistent across all marketing touch points.
- A solid understanding of up-to-date marketing practices, trends, tools, channels and metrics and an all-round understanding of the marketing mix.
- Experience in conducting audience research, competitor analysis, and market trends. You are able to map.
- Experience in facilitating workshops, presenting insights and delivering recommendations
- Data-driven approach with experience running A/B tests to improve understanding about customer behaviour and what drives business results.
- A passion for learning and a curiosity for new technologies and trends. You enjoy challenging the status quo.

Benefits
The salary for this role is subject to experience and location.
Our salary ranges are:
- L4: £50-65k
- L5: £60-80k
- L6: £75-110k
We also have 25 days holiday plus public holidays, enhanced parental policy, flexible working and private medical cover.

We have a lovely dog friendly London office 7 mins walk from Kings Cross station, which we ask people to work from 3 days per week. However, as we formed in the midst of the pandemic many of our team are spread across the country and so we rely on hybrid working practices.
