You will be part of a dynamic team that will play a key role within the Network Management Control Centre, supporting our operation to deliver a first-class transport network for our customers.
You will be part of our Business Logistics and Readiness Team and will undertake a wide range of activities to support our real-time operations. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with other NMCC teams and will be key to the ongoing development of NMCC processes and ways of working.
Your team will support logistical aspects of the NMCC, including management of our premises. This team will play a key part in the stand up and readiness of the PELF (Palestra Events Liaison Facility) working closely with our Events Team to host event organisers and facilitate multi-agency working.
You will also be key in building stakeholder relationships internally and externally and supporting project delivery on behalf of NMCC. This role will also undertake planning and coordination activity to support our Events and Resilience Teams, working closely with Network Operations to ensure our plans are delivered effectively.
The successful candidate should be adaptable and able to work across numerous priorities concurrently.
- Works with key NMCC stakeholders, such as other TfL modes/business areas, bus operators and external agencies, to support development of NMCC processes and activities.
- Required to represent NMCC during internal planning meetings and support the delivery of events/priorities/projects.
- Builds and maintains a suite of plans to support NMCC resilience and business continuity functions, such as the NMCC evacuation procedure.
- Required to produce, maintain and share processes / procedures with teams within NMCC to support control centre operations.
- Supports NMCC logistical activity, such as supporting the People Management Team including ad-hoc activity such as supporting staff travel arrangements during periods of industrial action.
- Able to collate and produce timely and accurate documentation to support control centre operations, including minutes and plans whilst ensuring the accuracy of the information.
- Works to support NMCC facilities, such as supporting fallback and Palestra Events Liaison Facility activity during planning and delivery. e.g., ensuring PELF / Fallback is prepared and ready to be used by colleagues / external stakeholders.
- Required to support real time control centre operations as required, enhancing support for teams during periods of high demand or planned activity.
Skills
- Good organization, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Good verbal and written communications skills with a proven ability to produce timely, accurate and high-quality documentation.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel etc.).
Knowledge
- Knowledge of TfL, its services, and the wider transport network in London.
- Understanding of project / planning processes best practice.
Experience
- Experience of supporting the planning or coordination of events/projects/priorities.
- Experience of working within a time critical environment.
- Experience of engaging with and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of providing administrative support, including but not limited to; the organisation of meetings, production of documents, plans and meeting minutes.
Working Hours
This role includes opportunities for hybrid working (minimum of 3 days per week in NMCC). In addition, the successful candidate will at times be required to work a range of unsocial hours outside of normal office times in line with NMCC operational needs. This will include some weekend working across the team.
