Please note, you can be based out of our Holborn, Coventry or Manchester Store Support Centre & Home - you will need to have flexibility to be in our Store Support Centre and/or depots at least once a week.
This role is responsible for providing Finance support to the Sainsbury’s Logistics Operations team, to drive the delivery of the 3-year ‘Next Level Sainsbury’s’ strategy. Reporting into the Finance Manager, you’ll provide insight, analysis and commentary, partnering the business and working with the wider Finance team to drive performance, whilst maintaining and developing robust controls.

Supporting period end for your area, working with the accounting team to ensure all transactions are accurate.
Deliver period end reporting with timely, robust and accurate analysis, translating data into valuable business insight, communicating all relevant financial and non-financial information when needed.
Supporting the finance manager with the development of controls and landing them with stakeholders.
Supporting the wider team on the finance processes for your area such as budgets, latest views and forecasting, as required.
Supporting the Finance Manager to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including story telling across both backwards looking and forward-looking performance.
Identify risks and opportunities to trends and flag these to the Finance Manager and business partners for onward action.
Continually challenge current ways of working to ensure that the best information is given to stakeholders. Bring a desire for continuous improvement to be best in class.
Work with internal finance and non-finance team to complete analysis to resolve business problems.
Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis for the business area as required to drive improvements.
More about you
Part qualified / qualified / qualified by experience accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight, and being able to clearly articulate this through your communication.
Ability to prioritise workload whilst managing business and finance stakeholder expectations in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
Strong commercial acumen.
A strong eye for detail and accuracy.
Self-motivated team player, able to work effectively within frameworks without direct supervision.
Effective communicator with stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen.
Curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries and ability to understand key business drivers.
