Are you are registered social worker who believes in putting relationship-based practice at the heart of all you do?
Brighton and Hove is both a challenging and rewarding place to work and we are looking for social workers who want to work creatively with us to ensure that our customers can live independent and fulfilled lives. Does that sound like you?
You’ll need to:
- Be a Social Worker registered with Social Work England and have experience of working directly with adults in need of care and support in a multi-disciplinary service.
- Be able to build strong, meaningful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
Here’s what our practitioners say about working in Brighton and Hove:
‘I was surprised by the professional freedom I am given to practice how I want and I have been encouraged by everyone to try new things and be creative. Management have supported me and facilitated this.’
‘I’ve found the BHCC ASYE programme to be an excellent start to my social work career. The cohort of NQSWs are an asset to the programme as it is comforting to have a group of people who are sharing the same experience.’
‘I like how Brighton and Hove is a small local authority so you get to know colleagues in other teams and they are forward thinking in many ways.’
Fixed term until 31 March 2024.
The role is available as fixed term for external applicants and is available as a secondment to internal applicants in line with our secondment policy.
For an informal discussion, please contact Anna.Bouch@brighton-hove.gov.uk
The work of our Localities teams is very varied, and if you come to work with us you will have the opportunity to build a broad portfolio of experience, working with teams committed to your professional development.
Our work includes, for example, strengths-based practice with adults of all ages, people with physical needs, people with substance misuse and mental health challenges, and people who may be at risk of homelessness.
As part of your application, you will need to complete your education and work history and provide answers to some shortlisting questions. Your answers to the shortlisting questions are the most important part of your application as they will be used in the shortlisting process to assess whether you meet the essential requirements for the role that are set out in the person specification and to decide whether you should be offered an interview. Before you start your application, please read our guidance here (Shortlisting questions guidance (brighton-hove.gov.uk)) as this gives important advice which will increase your chance of success in the shortlisting process.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
