About The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Brand Marketing Executive to join our BBC Gardeners' World Brand marketing team. The team consists of a Brand Manager and two Marketing Executives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in coordinating multi-channel marketing activities, effectively managing budgets, timelines, and diverse stakeholders. They will excel in both planning and hands-on execution, ensuring smooth delivery of promotional plans and accurate reporting. With excellent communication skills and a creative mindset, this candidate will play a crucial role in driving subscriber retention, acquisition, and overall brand visibility.

As a Brand Marketing Executive you will;
- Co-ordinate production and covermounts with Production, Subscription and Retail teams
- Develop and manage acquisition and retention promotional plans
- Oversee development of cross functional communications on the website, newsletters, social media, third party sites including influencer sourcing and coordination of activity
- Day to day account handler for external agency, overseeing online sales of BBC Gardeners' World magazine and guides
- Manage Brand's presence at key events including event set-up, breakdown and operations while the show is live
- Brief and oversee creation of newsstand marketing material
- Assist the Brand Manager in producing regular monthly reports on cross-platform marketing activities, providing analysis to identify trends and insights to inform future campaign strategies
- Create UTMs and links to ensure accurate tracking of print, website, newsletter, and social media activities
- Source high-value competitions for in-magazine activity, liaise with third parties to ensure competitions meet BBC guidelines, brief page artwork, and coordinate website activity and comms to winners. Provide regular reports and analysis of this competition activity, plus the digital only competitions run by the editorial and ads teams.
- Participate in quarterly brand reviews, contributing insights and generating ideas for new initiatives
- Oversee the budget allocation for seeds and seed influencer activities, ensuring timely updates to the marketing budget each month
- Conduct competitor analysis on associated brands and digital activities, providing recommendations based on marketing trends
Requirements
- Good understanding of traditional and digital consumer marketing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in consumer marketing
- Enthusiasm for suggesting new and innovative ideas
- Good creative brief and copy-writing skills; and understanding of design processes
- Experience of using Google Analytics, Email platforms (such as Adestra) and Social Media platforms (such as Sprinklr)
- Ability to analyse and make decisions drawing upon numerous information sources
- Ability to schedule and manage time effectively across multiple projects and campaigns
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
- Experience of managing supplier and internal stakeholder relationships positively and effectively desirable, working with staff at all levels
- An enthusiasm for gardening is essential
- Good planner and organiser
- Assumes responsibility and organises work and resources to meet deadlines
- Able to analyse and review projects effectively - good at identifying new opportunities and approaches
- Demonstrates confidence when dealing with multiple stakeholders
