LOTUS has an opportunity for an enthusiastic Marketing Coordinator to work across both Travel and Food & Drink teams.
The Role
The Marketing Coordinator will work across a portfolio of travel, food and drink clients ranging from origin foods (generics), tourist boards, wine brands, hospitality accounts, and more.
Working on multifaceted campaigns, the Marketing Coordinator will have a broad knowledge and understanding of their clients and an ability to work collaboratively delivering results above and beyond expectations. Responsible for day-to-day account administration, the Marketing Coordinator will start to take responsibility for copywriting, event planning, social media management & content creation, building supplier relationships, and assisting with a range of projects as assigned. They will build client relationships and proactively alert senior team members to any potential issues on accounts.
The ideal candidate will take a creative approach to every project brief and will take an active role in each phase from ideation to delivery to the final report.
Required Skills
Client & Account Management
- Develop relationships with clients under the direction of the account leader.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of client organisations; products and services; key messages; key audiences; competitors and their market sectors are in evidence and applied when executing campaign tactics.
- Feed into agendas for client meetings, preparation of documents/ presentations and take detailed notes of agreed actions.
- Demonstrate your ability to understand and interpret client and team briefs by asking constructive, intelligent questions.
- Manage electronic client folders so that documents are accurately named, filed and easy to find.
Communication
- Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent written proficiency in the production of documents for clients, adapting to different styles.
- Provide your manager with regular updates demonstrating your ability to articulate progress on projects.
Marketing
- Know who the client competitors are, and understand partners for your clients and their industry sectors.
- Have an understanding of the business news agenda, proactively spotting relevant opportunities.
- Take a flexible approach to adapt tactics where needed to meet KPI’s for each campaign.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how tactics fit into an overall strategy/direction.
Digital / Social Media
- Complete understanding of how to use digital platforms/services.
- Develop creative and accurate content for client social media accounts and digital campaigns.
- Follow influential voices related to your client/s sector across LinkedIn, Twitter (X), Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
- Ensure you have Google alerts in place for all clients and campaigns.
- Subscribe to industry blogs, news sources, and trade press to keep on top of the latest developments and news.
- Keep an eye on your client’s social media channels/ feeds, flagging relevant posts to them when necessary.
- Follow the LOTUS social accounts and when you are working at an event or on a specific campaign suggest posts for upload to the agency channels.
Project Management/Campaign Implementation
- Prioritise workload so all deadlines are met and raise any issues/ deadline problems in advance with your manager.
- Support your team lead in compiling campaign activity plans and timelines, ensuring deadlines are met and each aspect runs smoothly.
- Take responsibility for compiling accurate client reports and feeding them into 6-month and annual evaluations.
New Business
- Support the team on any new business whether it be opportunities for revenue generation from existing clients or opportunities to pitch for new clients.
Team Contribution
- Be willing to roll up your sleeves and contribute where needed to get the job done.
- This role works across multiple teams/accounts so excellent time management and communication with account leads is a must.
- Demonstrate your positive impact on the company by regularly, and proactively volunteering to participate in activities beyond your day-to-day account work.
Trade / Industry Knowledge
- Have a working knowledge of key players in your sector – whether it be food, drink, or travel.
- Develop an understanding of supply chains in place for existing clients to identify suitable trade partners (i.e. retailers, tour operators, etc.).
- Track industry news and major changes to the competitive landscape.
