At this difficult time the Council Leadership has made clear their support for our statutory functions, including Adult Social Care. We know where our priorities are.
We have an established and stable base of Team Managers to work with and support you, our vacancy rates our low - and we rarely use agency staff preferring to concentrate our efforts on looking after our permanent staff. This includes having a dedicated Training officer supporting adult social care, and a Principal Social Worker to support staff welfare and practice. We have also recently upgraded our electronic recording system.
Social Worker
If you are setting off on your Social Work Career or fancy a change of position and want to develop your skills in Adult Social Care, this might be the role you require. This role is primarily case work focussed but includes community liaison through GP Huddles and ICN+ Partnership working with Health & the Voluntary sector. We are progressing our community engagement strategy with increasing levels of community involvement & liaison. It is a role for many to enable them to gain knowledge & experience in working with vulnerable adults, their families and representatives and developing links and networks within a Locality setting with the various support options available.

Applicants wishing to join our aspiring and progressive adult social care services teams will have a commitment to team working and an enthusiasm for contributing to sharing ideas that support the development of all our services. Candidates will demonstrate professionalism, creativity and drive in their approach to person centred practice and problem solving; and an ability to work flexibly in response to a rapidly changing public service environment. Additionally the staff here at Croydon are friendly, and the transport links are excellent, as indeed is the support for the option of working from home on selected days.

Croydon Adult Services operate a case load limit structure, designed to maintain viable workload and support output of work.
