We stand at a pivotal moment in the fight against climate change. We must rapidly undo the centuries-long impact of fossil fuels. This demands an unprecedented infrastructure revolution - we must rapidly scale high-quality climate projects that remove and reduce carbon dioxide from our atmosphere. High-quality carbon removal projects, from afforestation to biochar, to newer/frontier technologies encounter formidable barriers in accessing necessary financing - that's where Opna comes in. We're combining data, financing innovation, and technology to help high-quality climate projects access right timed, right sized financing, anywhere in the world.
Our Solution
Opna offers a software platform for climate-action-committed companies to de-risk the financing and procurement of high quality carbon removal.
The world's leading climate-action committed companies are moving away from simply buying carbon credits, to directly financing and procuring from high quality carbon removal projects. Thousands of other companies, big and small must follow suit, but simply do not have the inhouse resources, expertise, or large budgets to contract with projects in a cost-effective, transparent, and knowledgeable way.
Opna's software lowers the barrier for new and existing carbon removal buyers to access and scale their carbon removal programs in a de-risked, transparent and cost efficient manner. This in turn, helps solve the massive financing gap for carbon removal projects and brings net-new supply of high quality carbon projects to the market.

We are HQ'ed in London but also have team members in Berlin and Barcelona. Collectively we have deep experience and expertise across capital markets, carbon markets, startups climate finance, and FinTech. We hold each other accountable and give regular and open communication. We share our optimism for finding solutions to climate change. We're gritty and actively practise empathy. We are serious about our work, but don't take ourselves too seriously!
Requirements
Your Mission
Opna is looking for its first full time marketing hire - An experienced, well-rounded, yet scrappy marketing lead to help build us a trusted brand and unique positioning to unlock carbon finance and to support us in finding product market fit- In this role, you are responsible for building out our marketing function from scratch, creating and delivering on Opna's demand generation, community building, customer acquisition+engagement, and Communication/Branding initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with our business objectives but also helps us rapidly learn and iterate
- Brand Building: Develop and strengthen the brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels
- Communication: Work closely with our product and GTM team to effectively communicate new launch milestones, customer successes and market developments to customers, the market and other stakeholders
- User acquisition:
- Content Creation: Oversee the creation of compelling content for our website, social media, email campaigns, and other marketing materials
- Digital Marketing: Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM, social media, email marketing, and online advertising
- Lead Generation: Develop and implement strategies to generate and nurture leads through various marketing channels
- Ecosystem engagement : Develop strategies to nurture relationships, like email marketing campaigns, social media engagement initiatives
- Analytics: Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns using tools like Google Analytics, and provide regular reports on ROI and KPIs
- Partnerships: Identify and establish strategic partnerships to enhance brand visibility and growth
- Event Planning: Organize and promote events, webinars, and other activities to engage with our target audience

- You are comfortable working with technology/CRMs/Marketing tools, but are also able to learn, discover and implement new processes, as they become relevant
Experience Needed
Experience: 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment Skills:
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, content creation, brand building, and lead generation. Proficiency with marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, SEO tools, CRM software)
- Preferred: Experience in building marketing for professional services, big tech/tech companies, fintech or built environment categories.
- Bonus: You already work in climate/carbon markets and have worked for startups that have been cateogry creators
